  Cooperating partners

Marine Parasitology requires cooperating partners from all parts of the world. The Marine Parasitology Group is consequently cooperating with research scientists and university staff from all around the world. A long going cooperation is with the Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. We are interested to study marine fish parasites from commercially important fish from the Red Sea. First data show a high species diversity in the Red Sea region. The contact address is given below.

Research interests: a. Metazoan fish parasites, especially from the Mediterranean and the Red Sea. b. Descriptive taxonomy and Scanning Electron Microscopy. c. Histology and histochemistry of wild bird parasites. d. General helminthology

Research activities: Nematode and cestode parasite larvae from Red Sea fish (Ain Shams University grant scheme). Parasites of freshwater fish from the river Nile. Nematodes and other helminths from American trout in different US. states.
